Here is the acai bowl recipe I talked about in my last blog post! It was super yummy and is perfect for breakfast, a snack or a post workout meal!

ACAI BOWL RECIPE:

What you need:

  • 1 pack of frozen unsweetened acai ( I use the Sambazon brand, you can also opt for the sweetened one)

  • 1 medium banana

  • A handful of frozen mango and pineapple ( or whatever frozen fruit you prefer)

  • 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk ( you can opt for sweetened if you want the bowl to be sweet, but I tend to let the toppings add the sweetness)

  • 1 teaspoon of shredded unsweetened coconut

  • 1 teaspoon of natural peanut butter ( I use the farm boy brand)

  • A sprinkle of chia seeds

  • A handful of blueberries ( or whatever berries you would like to top it off with)

  • Granola ( I use the coconut and dark chocolate kind, because yum) I only added a bit this time since I wasn't too hungry.

Sometimes I also add protein powder into mine for a post workout meal.

Instructions:

In a blender mix your frozen acai package, half of your banana, the frozen mango and pineapple (or whatever fruit you prefer), and almond milk. Mix until you get the consistency you want ( I prefer mine a bit thicker). I don't add ice because I like a smoother texture, if it doesn't seem thick enough I'll add some more frozen fruit. Next, put your mixture in a cute bowl and add your toppings. In this case, I topped mine with blueberries, sliced banana, a bit of granola, shredded coconut, peanut butter, and chia seeds. It was delicious!!

The best thing about acai bowls is that you can get as creative as you want! I always like to mix up my toppings and ingredients! If you try it out let me know how you like it or let me know what creation you come up with!

Until next time,
