Happy Tuesday Everyone! This weekend I was full of sniffles & sneezes - which took a downer on our weekend! I spent Friday night recovering spending time with family and Mialyna! Saturday I had a girls night in Toronto planned, but I had to cancel since I was not feeling too hot to say the least. But, don't worry I'll be rescheduling my night out in the city lights for another weekend! I ended up staying in on Saturday, running errands (mama duties), and making some boho chic dream catchers for an upcoming photo shoot! Sunday, I was feeling better and I was able to head to the movies to watch The Hit man's Body Guard and chow down on some movie theater popcorn (yum - my guilty pleasure!). I even got to try out the VIP experience - super fancy stuff right there! I also got to go to one of my fav restaurants Joeys! If you haven't tried their tandoori flat bread or California Chicken sandwich - you are missing out! Well, that was my weekend and of course it was filled with lots of cuddles and mommy chaos!
The dream catchers turned out so well I thought I would share with you how we made them! It was actually super fun to make, quite relaxing, and the perfect craft for a night in! It wasn't too difficult either and you are able to customize it anyway you want! They are perfect for party decor, photoshoots, home decor, a nursery... pretty much anything!
So, if your interested in learning how to make your own trendy boho chic wall decor keep on reading!

DIY BOHO CHIC DREAM CATCHERS
What You Need:
Yarn- Lots of it, experiment with textures and different colors
Ribbon - any kind, any texture, any colour - I went with some satin ribbon, some lace, and some crochet materials!
Metal Circle Rings- I found these at Lensmills for super cheap and Michaels has them as well!
White crochet dollies - these are for the middle and are super cheap, you can also use lace, fabric, or ribbon. Some people also leave it bare- totally up to you!
Hot glue!
You can also add feathers, but I decided to pass on it this time!
What to do:
First things first, determine what type of look you are going for! I wanted mine to have different textures and I decided to alternate between yarn, ribbon, and lace! Next, cut all your string. Determine how long you want the length to be before, then cut them all to the same level! It takes a while. Personally, I would leave a bit of extra length in case you want to make it longer or for when your looping it around the metal ring. You can always trim later! You have to use a bundle of strands for each row. Also, I made some thicker and braided the material.
Start with your first batch of yarn - Loop the yarn onto the metal ring and pull it tight. You don't have to worry about the ends being the same length because you can always even it out at the end! Just keep repeating this until you get the look you want!

Next- take your crochet dollie and cut into a circle that is slightly small than your metal ring or the same size. Then, get your hot glue gun out! Put hot glue around your metal ring and slowly stretch the dollie around. Make sure you secure it tightly - you don't want any loose fabric. Once the dollie is secure - trim around the edges of your ring to clean it up! I also used some crochet/lace string to cover up the back to make it a bit cleaner.
Last but not least- trim the bottom yarn/ribbons if needed. I like when all the string isn't perfectly lined up and I kept mine a bit longer and did one on an angle. If you are making multiple dream catchers you can vary the looks as well!
....and there you have it! You have a boho chic home decor piece and you also killed some time! These are actually pretty expensive in the stores lately- so you definitely saved some money as well... and who doesn't love that! Be sure to get creative and experiment with your own dream catcher!

Hope you all liked this post and I'll be back with another one shortly.
Until next time,
Alysia xo
