HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Hope you guys are all having a spooklicious day!
I know I have been a tad MIA and I'm going to pull the typical life is chaotic card- but it is true! I've just been busy with #momlife, work, working out, and trying to have a social life somewhere in between! But, Mialyna and I are super excited for Halloween and I knew I had to get a new post up! Mialyna's actually being Alice in Wonderland - this will be the first year we aren't making a costume from scratch and buying one! But, she looks super cute - I added some photos down below from when she got ready for school! I'll be sure to post more photos on my Instagram story (@alysiaharji_) or twitter (@Alysia_xo) so be sure to follow us there! Oh, and I'm also rocking a warm fuzzy bear onsie - because I'm that embarrassing mom who just has to do something weird! I was banking on handing out candy instead of doing the whole trick or treating thing this year lol ... but turns out that won't be happening (single mom life). So, I needed something to keep me warm haha so it's a win win situation! I have also convinced my sister to also be a bear!
So in the spirit of Halloween, I thought I would share one of our favourite Halloween treats that are super easy and a hit with everyone! They make the perfect treat for the kiddies, to take to work, or to much on while handing out candy!
Frankenstein Rice Krispies

What you need:
5 cups of mini marshmallows ( 6 if you are planning on eating them while cooking haha)
4 tbsp. butter
7 cups Rice Krispies
green food coloring
candy eyes
melting chocolate {I used about half a bag}
What to do:
In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat. Then toss in your marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
Add the green food coloring until you have the desired color. I prefer the dark bright green!
Once melted, remove from the heat and gradually add the Rice Krispies. Stir until the Rice Krispies are completed coated in yummy delicious melted marshmallow goo!
Next press evenly into a well greased pan. Let them cool and cut into rectangles. It's totally up to you how big you want them to be.
Before fully cooled, press in the candy eyes! This is my fav part- so cute!
Melt chocolate in the microwave as per the directions on the package. I usually just do a minute at a time!
Using either a knife or dipping the top of Frankie in the chocolate to get his hair! Then using a decorating pipe or a stick draw on his chocolate mouth!
Tad da! You are done and Frankie is ready to be eaten!
Hope you all enjoy these cute Frankenstein rice krispie treats! Be sure to be safe out there! Check your little one's candies and be visible! xo Stay tuned for a blog about my Niagara- On-The- Lake wine tour and more!
Until next time,
Alysia xo
