I cannot believe that it is already Friday - like it's actually so crazy how fast this week went by. But hey, I ain't complaining! I've been absolutely exhausted this week with work and typical mama chores! So, I'm very much looking forward to the weekend! However, I will be working on photoshoots all of Saturday! We are going to be doing some Christmas photos in a beautiful tree lot! If you haven't checked out our photography business and you live in Ontario you def should - www.ashphotographyservices.com (shameless self promo right there :P ) So, Saturday will also be a work day where we brave the cold! Sunday I have put in my calendar as a stay at home, be a burrito, and not bother getting out of my comfy clothes day.... but, we will see if that happens (hopefully it does)! I'm sure all you parents out there can agree sometimes doing nothing at all is the best thing ever- not getting ready, not leaving your house, and not doing any work!

So, for today's blog I thought I would give you a little update and have a chit chat type entry! As you may have seen on my social media I went away to Niagara last week! It was a great time as I got to indulge in some yummy food and drink lots of wine! I ended up staying at the Hilton which had great service, a great view, and great restaurants attached to it! On Friday, I got to indulge in a great steak dinner, some rosé, and even got a surprise letter from a secret admirer- if that doesn't sound like a great Friday I don't know what does!

Saturday, I was up bright and early for a wine tour! I was most excited about this part since I have been wanting to do a wine tour since the spring time and for my birthday in Niagara and never got the opportunity! So, I was so happy when I had the chance to do it now! Better late than never! I booked with Winery Tours of Niagara - and I HIGHLY recommend them! I opted for the all day wine tour (of course!) that stops at four different wineries, an hour or so to explore Niagara on the lake (must do), and it included cheese, charcuterie & ice wine truffles! It was AMAZING! Our tour guide Brandon "Brando" was hilarious and made the trip not only informative but super fun! We got to try a lot of ice wine, he added in an extra winery (making it 5) and a chocolate factory stop! It was a great way to enjoy a day in Niagara! The opportunity to explore Niagara-on-the-lake was great too! We got to walk around the strip and it was absolutely adorable - old school/gilmore girl vibes! On the wine tour, I even picked up a couple bottles of wine to enjoy over the next while - picked up a great peach wine and even a light ice wine to try the famous ice wine martini everyone was talking about! P.S. I'm a white wine girl, but I'm really trying to get into the reds - so, if you have any recommendations that aren't too dry or bitter send them my way! This trip also taught me how to be a professional wine snob as it taught me what to look for, proper way of drinking and pairings, etc (but I probably won't ever be able to keep up that status)! Saturday night I just ended up going for some drinks and an Italian dinner nothing too fancy! It was perfect though! I also ended it with eating chocolate cake in bed!

There was a ton of people out partying and clubbing for Halloween that night and that's not really my scene anymore (only special occasions if that)! To be honest - I think there's an age where you should not be clubbing #turnoff #growup - but to each their own! I def rather be eating my cake and sipping on wine haha

Sunday we grabbed breakfast at iHop and for some reason I was super excited about this! I love breakfast food lately! I also have the tendency to get excited over the simple things! Overall, it was a great trip to Niagara! I do recommend doing a wine tour and exploring Niagara on the lake! Oh and here is another tip - Niagara has become very expensive - all the prices are jacked up and they add a tourist tax on top of everything! So, be sure to ask for it to be removed as you do not need to pay it! #protraveltip right there!

The rest of my week has been working, doing normal mommy duties, studying with Mialyna, working out, and house duties! It was also Halloween and of course that meant trick or treating and I even wore my bear onsie out #mamabear! Everyone loved it and surprisingly I wasn't the only embarrassing mom out there! This week Mialyna also had a math test and she killed it since she got perfect (A+ student right there and one proud mama) and she also asked for her reward to be a Starbucks Chai Tea Latte. If that doesn't prove she is my kid I don't know what does - math nerd and Starbucks addict! This week I also got to catch up with an old girlfriend from the elementary school days who is now living in town - which was great!

I have also been working out as mentioned, but sometimes it gets pretty hectic and I have to resort to at home workouts. For those mommies who have a hectic life, I highly recommend running and doing HIIT on your stairs at home! It was a killer workout that had me sweating and I am still sore today! I also danced with Mialyna every time I hit the bottom of the stairs so it was fun for her too and Georgie tried to keep up with me on the stairs - so the workout became a family affair! It was a lot of fun! So, let this be a reminder that you can fit in your workouts and be creative at home! (Yes, I did just talk about eating chocolate cake and working out in the same post = balance haha)

Overall, it's been a great but chaotic week over here! I have included some pics from the past week and my trip down below if you are interested!

Stay tuned for more blogs! I'm already getting excited for all things Christmas!

Have an amazing Friday xo

Until next time,

Alysia xo
